I just bought a 7inch navigator and it says I have to load it completely first by carcharger. 'Plug in the car charger after the car is started'. Must I drive after starting till the gps is completly loaded? That can take hours maybe?

No, that isn't necessary. You should be fine to use right out of the box, pluggable, for what ever amount of time you need. You don't need to schedule a road trip for the first use of the device.

You can actually use a cell phone charger to charge a typical GPS device with the appropriate cable, by the way.

I would suggest you connect the GPS device to your PC/laptop and update your maps if not already updated. There are always updates.

Good luck.
