MSI Z170A Gaming Pro or Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon?

I have been looking to buy a new PC but I am having a bit of trouble picking a Motherboard for it.

Currently I am looking at both the 'MSI Z170A Gaming Pro' and the 'MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon' and I can't choose between the two. I like the colour scheme and general aesthetic of the Gaming Pro more than the Carbon's but is that the only difference?

The Gaming Pro is more expensive than the Carbon so I am wondering if one of them has better performance/functionality than the other?

I have checked on MSI's website and the only visible difference I see is that the Carbon has USB Type-C at the back and more USB 3 headers for the front panel. This does not really have an effect on me as no other devices that I use have a Type-C port and the PC case that I want has a front Type-C for when I do need one.

PS: I want an MSI motherboard as it fits into the MSI/Corsair themed build that I'm going for (red and black looks epic and I barely have to make any compromises for it.)

My Planned Build as of this moment:

Mobo: (to be determined ^^^)
CPU: I7 6700
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LED 3200MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
PSU: Corsair RM750i / RM750x
Case: Cooler Master Mastercase Maker 5
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2

Any opinion on the matter or my build would be helpful

I quite often find myself multi-tasking on the PC, Gaming, Browsing the internet or watching TV. All 3 at the same time often. I just went through wanting the best, forced myself to think seriously about what I will use the PC for and get the best bang for my buck for 'MY' habits.

Liquid V's Air. Very debatable. I would love to have liquid but I don't see the need for it. I live in a fairly cool climate and the $ that I spent I don't want to push the components to the limit and risk throwing the money in the shitter. Air cooling suffices me and the sound from the 5.1 I don't notice the hum of the fans anymore. Just trying to say that the $ saved here can be better spent elsewhere.

For instance, multitasking can use a lot of...

For instance, multitasking can use a lot of RAM, for $50 more than your chosen RAM, I purchased 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 Ripjaws 3200MHz for $207 AUD on Newegg, bit of a 2-3 week wait but Australia cost too much. It pays to shop around.

The 6700 only has 16x PCI-e lanes, very limited to configuration, no point having a motherboard that can pump out 40 PCI-e lanes with this processor. Save the money on the cooler and get a i7-5820k.

Actually, gaming, browsing and watching TV my CPU is maxed at 36 40 26 30 all air cooled and I am not worried about a leak. If you do decide on air, be cautious of the air cooler choices. Height can be a pain in the case side.

Advice:
Read reviews so you don't need to do a revision.
Weeks of reading reviews equals less than months of regret.
Again with aircooling, Airflow can be increased by adding HardDrive fans, from experience my HDD's live longer running at low 30 degrees C, saving you money and heartache in the future.

@martygj72

Thanks, I will keep that in mind.

I don't think that hight would be a problem as the mastercase is pretty spacious for a mid-atx.

The 16GB will be enough for my purposes and I can buy more at any time.

My budget has been lowered recently so My build will probably look more like this:

Mobo: MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon (It's cheaper)
CPU: I5 6600K
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LED 3200MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X
PSU: Corsair RM750x
Case: Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5
CPU Cooler: (to be determined)
