Hi,
I am changing my old Sony Vaio to an Acer ES1-531 (not confirmed yet). I want to keep my the data from the SSD in my Vaio because a) I have a lot of programs, plugins for those programs and specific user settings that I want to maintain, and b) I don't want to 'upgrade' from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (pre installed in all new laptops).
I understand how to clone the partitions of my current SSD onto another, but one issue I have is with the fact that different laptops are going to need different drivers. How am I going to go about this? Can I pre-install the drivers for the new laptop on to the old SSD then clone it onto the new SSD, or is it more complicated?
Sorry if this seems like a bit of a noobie question, I am normally really good with this kind of stuff, but I just want to be sure before I do anything stupid.
If you need any more details or a better clarification then please ask.
Thanks.
