Its being incredibly slow, like taking 5 minutes to load webpages. It was also often just not even connecting at all. Im on windows 10.

I tried setting the dns server address manually and now it seems my internet is somewhat better, but still really slow. also I think its alternating between being connected and not connected every minute or so.

If you're using WiFi, update drivers or use wired. If your're using wired, update drivers. Also, unless you know something about DNS, messing around with it isn't a very good idea. If you're still inclined, do some research or use google's DNS (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4)

My motherboard doesnt have onboard wifi, im using a networking card. Windows checked for an update and didnt find any. when I set the DNS settings I did set them to 8.8.8.8 . Also it wasnt every minute or so: What happens is that my internet works (but slowly) for about 20 minutes or so, then stops working for about five minutes, and then goes back to working (slowly). For example i had to type this twice.

Since this issue only occurs on your computer, it's most likely an issue with your wireless dongle. Reinstalling its drivers and try again.

Btw, does this also occur when you're using wired?

I cant hook up wired without moving my computer downstairs and its really heavy. Im convinced its an issue with my computer as the internet works on other devices. I also tried pinging the router while it wasnt working and didnt get a response, so something is causing my computer to have issues connecting. I also tried pinging my own computer and it worked as normal, but I would have been surprised if it didnt.

Well, since you can't test wired connection (I mean, you could just find a long Ethernet cable), try checking the speeds on another device. Ensure that you're in the same room when doing so because I'm trying to see if there's any interference.

If the issue doesn't occur on the other device, then the issue is your computer. Uninstall and reinstall your wireless dongle" drivers and try again. If that doesn't fix your issue, your dongle might be broken.

Why get a job when you can just magically get millions of dollars for doing nothing? XD.

Gee, if only I had at some point thought to move my router. Without you this brilliant solution would never be able to be put in place. Thank you oh wise one.

Maybe because I cant fking move the router genius
