can a single 2+6 pci e connector work with a 8800 gt ,which requires 12 (6+6)

i recently bought a power supply still not arrived but it only has one 6pin connector with 2 pin aswell. But i have a 8800gt that i wanted to use but it has to 2 slots for x2 6 pin connectors.
Will the power supply still work?

A 6+2 is capable of 150w. 2x 6pin is 150w. So yes it's viable with an 8pin-2x6pin pcie adapter.

My concern is the 8800GT requires a 450w psu and a psu having a single 6+2pin pcie might not be enough.
