I'm trying to build my own PC but I honestly don't know where to start. I have a $4,000 budget for a 34" Ultra wide 4K monitor (I want the Acer Predator) and a PC to go with it. I don't want to buy one pre made because I know I can save a lot more money. However, I need some guidance from you all on some good builds that can support ultra settings for gaming, video editing, and maybe some streaming in the future depending on my schedule.

Bottom line, I don't know what I need to accomplish my goals.

The x34 is actually surprisingly easy to drive. This build should work for you for far under your budget. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/gcqRkT However, depending on what software you use to edit, let's just say premiere or photoshop, vegas etc. There may be a different CPU I can recommend to you. This overall will perform fine for editing and gaming. My advice to you is to subscribe to LinusTechTips. He makes great build guide videos and explains things step by step. Their side channel, TechQuickie, also makes very informative short videos.

Rog. I really don't have any preferences. I just don't want to go cheap on anything. It's going to be most gaming and editing. Just want something powerful enough to run that monitor and game on ultra settings along with some video editing/movie watching.

First off, if you plan on building your machine and have 4000$ and don't know anything about it... then the first thing I will tell you is start digging around before doing anything. Do a lot of research for a good month or two.

I am not opening this can of worms.

This build should do whatever you want it to do just under $4000 . http://pcpartpicker.com/list/7ywVcc
