Hello,

It depends on IMEI, Sprint IMEI usually starts with 9900xxx or 14 digits for samsung. What are the starting digits of your mobile IMEI and how many digits it contains?Look at the IMEIs which you switched on straightTalk previously their starting digits and number of digits.

Thanks,

No one can give me a reason as to why.. but hypothetically would the identical phone work if it had a straight talk imei or esn.. I'm trying to figure out if it's a hardware, software or a provider issue and see if I can work up a solution on my own

Did you check your phone on the link I posted? It would tell you if it should work with their service.
