Could you help diagnose the following

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA8002705010
BCP2: FFFFF880040287F0
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 000000000000000D
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

The above error occurred whilst Windows downloading updates, and caused the laptop to reboot. I have an inkling what it might be as saw a message when it rebooted, but interested in what you can diagnose from the codes.

The second is :-

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116
BCP1: FFFFFA8001F744E0
BCP2: FFFFF8800402F7F0
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 000000000000000D
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

This occurs sometimes after bootup. Click it off and no further problems during that session.

Both machines are Thinkpad R61 so problem could have a similar cause.

Thanks

Solution
go first with the lenovo one and if that not working try the intel one it is made for the chipset but not specialy for the laptop system from lenovo .

That makes sense, in that I did see a fleeting message about Intel Display Driver Vista when the first error above rebooted.

All a bit odd, as have 4 identical machines and only these 2 have shown errors.

Even more odd is windows and speccy displaying a different version number.

Windows showing 8.15.10.1930 date 23/09/09 and the website you linked to showed 8.15.10.1867 21/10/09.

Found the info on the website about pressing CTRL+ALT+F12 to display driver and it says 8.14.10.1930 which makes more sense numerically.

Asked Windows to update and it said it had the latest.

I also note it does not have a driver for Windows 10, so assuming it is a risk updating to 10.

Thanks for that

I did take the risk and go-ahead and install Windows 10. I don't think there have been any problems that would relate to the display driver but likely to go back to Windows 7 anyway for other reasons.

Before upgrading to Windows 10 I think I allowed it to install a Lenovo Display Driver update from the list of optional Windows updates then went into the cycle again of Windows updates and this time it completed without rebooting with errors.

I don't have the laptops available at the moment to check which driver they have but could you clarify for me which they should have (from a Win 7 point of view), as I am more confused than ever. I'll admit updating these drivers is a little out of my comfort zone which is why I came to you first.

I'm confused how this link
http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-r-series-laptops/thinkpad-r61/downloads/DS003401

relates to this link
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18232/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-Driver-for-Windows-7-64-zip-?product=81508

Which should it be ? Or am I looking at 2 different things? The Intel link said you should work with computer manufacturer before installing driver from Intel site.
