Hello!

I'm a bit of a PC noob when it comes to picking out parts and would like some help determining the best GPU for my system.

I currently run a Maximus VI Hero motherboard with a Geforce GTX 660. I am looking at upgrading to the Asus variant of the GTX 1060 but am unsure if I can actually install it in my PC without any issues.

I am looking at this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126114 in particular.

My power supply has enough juice to support the part.

Thank you for your input!

Of course!

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Hero
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660
PSU: Cooler Master V850 850W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x 8GB
OS: Win 10 Professional
CPU: Intel i7 4770 w/ Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212 Heatsink

Please let me know if there is anything I have missed that you need. :)

My biggest concern (now that you've answered that) is whether or not I can connect it using a 6pin connector? I am unsure if I have an 8pin in my system as the computer was built by a friend 3 years ago and he can't recall.

Per above: PSU: Cooler Master V850 850W.

I know that the PSU can handle the actual wattage requirements but I am unsure about connections and the like. Would I also need to purchase a 6 to 8 pin adaptor? Sorry for the newbie questions, I don't know a lot about the ins and outs of building pcs.
