SLI Overheating Issue (1st card breathing heat onto the other)

Hello. I am using two GTX 1080s with the asrock x99m extreme 4 board in SLI (Asus founder's edition) so they have the 1 fan. Under heavy load, I'm experiencing at least 10-15 degrees C temperature differences although both are low (50 and 65). The bottom GPU is hotter, and I'm suspecting its from the top GPU blowing hot air directly onto the card.

Is there anything I can do for this? Moving the bottom card down to another slot isn't an option as the PSU would then be blocking half 3/4 of the fan. The only thing I can think of is adding some sort of "blocker/diversion" into the PCI-e slot inbetween the 2 cards, where it would deflect the heat from the fan into the open space of the case which has really good airflow. That, or finding out how to control fan speed of each GPU individually but this doesn't entirely solve the issue.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

That case will have a tremendously hard time developing any static pressure (for excellent airflow):

so you may need to consider some mods :)

Would help, and then installing a fan on the exterior side vent with a shroud (to make it look nice) would also help:

And then you can choose your own grill:

Be sure all fan locations are populated as well (bottom?), and don't be afraid to cut out the case grill and replace them for better airflow. These up top might work...

Ty for reply. Using the cougar challenger case with two aftermarket fans on the top of the case. Seems pretty well ventilated. There is no room to install a side fan near the GPUs as my CPU cooler extends all the way to the case.

Or could be done with plain filters and custom grills (like the side):

Very true.......no action is really necessary, only if it truly bothers you (and you want to spend the money).
