Hi, recently I moved my PC downstairs to connect it to my router with an ethernet cable (my router is downstairs) so I tried to download and play some games to see if there are some improvements, and- 0 ping is still the same download speed is still the same and when I checked on speedtest all was really the same. If guys can find some answers it'll be really helpful! Thanks :D

It mostly gives a more stable install. You really should not use the ingame latency numbers because they include other things than just network.

It is pretty simple to see. Open a CMD window and run a continuous ping command to your router IP. On ethernet you will see 1ms and it will almost never vary. On wireless you may see a tiny bit more but you will see spikes here and there to number that are higher.

How much difference you see is impossible to predict. Some people get excellent results on wireless and other that live in high density apartments with lots of other people using wireless around them get so much interference it is almost unusable.

Well, the reason why people say wired Ethernet improves performance is because wifi signals usually have to deal with things like distance, interference, etc.

In your case, as long as you're getting the speeds specified by your ISP (based on your internet plan), you won't get an increase in performance.

It depends what you are testing. The main reason ethernet is recommended for games over WiFi is the quality of the signal. Speedtest pretty much only measures the speed of the connection. Most online games need very little bandwidth but need extremely good quality...ie no delays or packet loss.

If all you were to care about is the speed small random variations in the speed would not be seen in a file transfer, you do not see a extra 200ms here and there but in a game you can easily see it.

How well wireless works greatly depends on where you live and how much other wireless signals you are getting from things like neighbors WiFi routers. Some people are very lucky and they can play games with no problems on their wireless and other live in areas so crowded they can barely get it to load web pages.

I meant that I've checked the MS in game and usually with the wifi it's between 100 to 90 in game, So when I checked while connected to the router nothing really changed so it is suppose to stay the same and the thing is that it'll give more stable connection or it is suppose to give me a better MS in game and better download and upload?
