I5 6500
Msi h110m pro vd
Kingston hyper x fury 2x4gb 2133
Rx 480 4gb

I5 4690
Gigabyte s2h
Kingston hyper x fury 2x4gb 1886
Rx 480 4gb

The skylake build is more expensive because of the ram but the two cpu prices are practically the same, so my question is which one? Is there any performance difference or anything else you can think of, please try and provide as much reasons possible and feel free to ask any more questions about the build
Thanks for feedback : )

Solution
Get Skylake. It is new and will give you 15%-20% better performance (not 5%). It runs cooler, uses latest technology.

Skylake itself is like a year old. Haswell is like 3 years old. Get the new platform.

Edit: Getting a single stick of 8gb ram might save you some money.

The thing is im already stretching my budget a bit but the ddr4 ram which was £37 has a clock speed of 2133 and i found kingston fury, both are practically the same but the fury has a speed of 2400 and this one is cheaper

Well the Haswell build I don't believe that motherboard will be able to run your memory at 1866, I believe it will run a max of 1600 with XMP. Either way both systems will perform extremely similarly to each other in games. The Skylake DDR4 build might be 1-5 FPS higher, depending on the game and settings.

The Skylake motherboard is rated for 2133 Mhz memory. Now that doesn't mean you can only buy that speed, you can buy faster stuff, it just will just downclock to that speed. In my opinion memory speed doesn't make a huge difference in gaming so I wouldn't worry about it much.

I would opt for the skylake, purely because it's the newer socket therefore you will be able to upgrade to more powerful i5/i7'S in the future if you would like to do so, also the added supported of DDR4 Ram is nice to have as even though it doesn't effect gaming performance it makes it slightly more future proof. If you could afford a little more on the CPU a none K series 6600 would be a great choice, especially if you want to play more CPU demanding titles such as Arma. Hope this helps, Rob

Forgot to add, I know the motherboard only supports 2133mhz Ram but if he got say some 3000mhz and changed his motherboard it would save him some money in the long run

You'll probably want to get a skylake it 6600 then

Dual channel memory is overrated. It does increase your memory bandwidth, but you would not see that much performance increase in real life. Dual channel is like less than 5% more performance in real life applications than single channel.
