Hi guys,

For some time now I am looking for the new GPU. Originally I wanted to go for the rx 480 (probaby Nitro from Sapphire), but I have to wait for at least a month and a half and I have no idea how it will perform vs 1060. Since I'm from Germany, prices here are crazy.

These are my top contenders:

1. RX 480 (Sapphire Nitro) / Gigabyte - ca. 319 Euro.
2. 1060 (Gigabyte) - 319 Euro
3. 1060 (MSI Gaming X) - 339 Euro
4. R9 390X (sapphire nitro 8gb) - 329 Euro.
5. R9 390 Fury (sapphire nitro 4gb) - 349 euro.

My rig:

Cpu: i7 2600
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3p
8gb Ram
Monitor: For sure 144hz, Benq - not sure which model cause I would like F-sync but it depends on the GPU.
PSU: Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 10 850W

What would you reccomend and why? From the benchmarks, it seems tha the Fury is at least 1 tier above any of these cards (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it.

The only real points I have against the Fury and potentially the 390X is that both are on the longer side and may be an issue depending on your case. Otherwise, if you're okay with the power consumption, the Fury is probably the best of these options at this exact moment from a pure performance standpoint.

Should be three versions. Fury, Fury Nano, and Fury X. They don't have associated model numbers.

RX480 is significantly slower then the GTX1060 for most of today's games. 1060 trades blows with a GTX980. RX480 though is a lot cheaper and should max out 1080p 60hz. Both support Asynch compute to a degree, so future DX12 gaming is questionable. The RX480 supports crossfire, the 1060 does not support SLI.

Fury are probably about right to max out a 1920x1080 144hz display, but so would a GTX980ti which is about the same class as the Fury X.

Plenty of benchmarks comparing RX480 and GTX1060: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html

Well as of current, prices in Germany are:

1. RX 480 (Sapphire Nitro) / Gigabyte - ca. 319 Euro.
2. 1060 (Gigabyte) - 319 Euro
3. 1060 (MSI Gaming X) - 339 Euro
4. R9 390X (sapphire nitro 8gb) - 329 Euro
5. R9 Fury (sapphire nitro 4gb) - 349 euro

So, the argument that RX 480 is cheaper doesn't hold at all and to be honest I REALLY cannot justify 300+ euro price for that card. Hell, I can get old R9 390 for dirt cheap now (270-ish) and RX 480 isn't worth 50 euro more. I think that the Fury is the best logical choice here, cause of the pricing policy. Maybe in other countries RX 480 has a lower price tag, but in Germany it's far from AMD's promise of 199 USD (granted for 4 gb model).
