Solution
if only my mouse worked with steelseries 3 engine or I would show you. My Sensei can only use steelseries 2 and for some dumb reason it updated to that version, and the software then couldn't find mouse on start up. I have LCD on bottom of mouse and could change dpi via it if i wanted/needed to. I got off track there...

according to this it can only be changed in steps of 250:
The Rival 100's sensitivity button toggles between two user-selectable sensitivity settings. You'll adjust these settings in the SteelSeries Engine 3 software. The sensitivity stages can only be changed in increments of 250 DPI, but that should still allow most of us to find a comfortable setting.

which would make 800 difficult.

think the only steps are: 250, 500, 1000, 1250. 1500, 2000 and 4000
