Most UDIMMs are NON-ECC. If the memory supported ECC, they would certainly advertise that. The only way you would accidentally end up with ECC memory would be by pulling used memory from a server.
Those are usually the same things and should work.
DDR2 can be picky, however, so there is no guarantee it will work unless it is officially supported for your model.

"NON-ECC" is the only that differs from the original type, is that really significant (I haven't a clue what it stands for)
