Both USB 3.0 Ports Fail at the same time.

Hello, today I was just browsing around the internet when suddenly my keyboard and mouse both stop working. I plugged them into the 2.0 ports and they worked. The 3.0s seem to be unresponsive. The motherboard I have is an Asrock 970 extreme4. This doesn't worry me since the peripherals still work, but is there any disadvantige to having them plugged in the 2.0 ports? Or is this a big problem I should adress?

Just what I wanted to hear! So there should be no problem using my newly ordered blackwidow ultimate 2016 when it arrives if I plug it into the 2.0 port?
