I would love to have a wired connection going to my PC, but as I am on the 2nd floor of the house and the router is on the first, that would be a feat to behold.

I found these little guys on sale on Amazon, and from what I've gathered they run the internet connection through the power grid in your house, and for only 20 USD they're less than a WiFi adapter, I just wanted a second opinion on whether or not they work, and how well they work as a replacement of a regular wired connection.

Well...you need two of them. One next to the router and one next to the PC.

Those units are the oldest technology for powerline adapters. They will probably get you 30 to 50 Mbit and are more likely to have issues with certain home wiring situation than newer (and more expensive) types of powerline adapters. The newest standard, with the highest bandwidth is the AV2 standard. You would generally get 100Mbit+ with AV2 MIMO adapters.

Little confusing, but I get where you're coming from and what you're saying, so any good AV2 ones under 40 or 50 USD? lol

Edit - Found some

https://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DHP-601AV-PowerLine-Gigabit-Starter/dp/B00F0RC97A/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1469583026&sr=1-2&keywords=av2+mimo&refinements=p_36%3A-5000

How would those be? 4 stars and 229 reviews seems good, and how would they be if I got them Used? Say off of eBay.

I mean they're SISO instead of MIMO, but MIMO is 80 USD and I'm on a tight budget here =(

Those should be better than the AV200 units you linked to first.
