I bought one...two quick questions.

Is it better to remove preapplied thermal paste and put new one on the cpu? Also, in case the cpu already has some, do I clean it first?

And second. What is a 4 pin to usb mini type b? It came with one aND have no clue what it is for

Solution
The 212 evo mounting system wouldn't work, because it has holes for screws (which are pre-attached to the retention plate) to go into, while the Corsair H100i v2 mounting system usings screws pointing up that the "thumbscrews" (which are more like nuts) go onto.

Admirable
Anytime you apply a new cooler you want to remove the old thermal paste on the CPU since it dries out and gets hard and crusty. Use alcohol (90proof) and toilet paper to wipe off the paste easily. The h100 has decent paste pre-applied. I use one with my own paste and the pre-applied stuff. only saw 2c difference.

The mini USB to 4pin is for controlling the pump and fans. You can adjust the speed of fans and pump speed. When its not connected it will just run at the default medium settings.

Thank you. Something else...I don't have the amd mounting bracket. Can I use the mounting bracket that came with the 212 Evo? It goes in the back
