What's the best upgrade for my PC rig

My PC rig is gtx 960 FX 8320 and 8gb ram. I wanted a new graphics card and I'm thinking of RX 480 or gtx 1060. But then I found out that my FX could maybe bottleneck these newer GPUs. I'd like to know if I should just oc my FX and go for RX 480 or gtx 1060 or just get a better CPU first.

1. RX 480 or GTX 1060 are not a "HUGE" upgrade to 960. They both perform somewhere between 970 and 980. Of those the GTX 1060 offers a bit more improvement. IMHO, you can wait for the next gen or aim at higher end (GTX 1070).
2. Your CPU is not great, but there is no urgent need to upgrade it. both AMD and Intel will release their new CPUs in the next 5-8 months - that's when you should consider a CPU upgrade.
