Deciding between two high end power supplies

Hi guys,

I have three R9 390X cards I got for cheap, and I would like to run them in my system, but my current power supply is not even nearly enough. I am running a i7-5820K system.

I have two power supply options to choose from, those are available locally:

Antec HCP-1300
Seasonic X-1250

Can you please help me decide between the two? which has higher class components? (they cost about the same in here).

Frankly, I don't think $50 extra for the HX1200i relative to the X-1250 is really worth it. If it was only a few dollars difference, then by all means the HX1200i would be the best choice.

So the SeaSonic X-1250 would be the better choice here, owing to the price difference.

Any of the three PSU's can power three R9-390X's easily, with plenty power to spare.

Both Seasonic and the Antec are excellent units.

The Antec actually scores higher, but only on value alone.

Both PSU's are fairly similar in terms of quality and performance.

A couple of things to note though.

The SeaSonic uses slightly lower grade primary capacitors compared to the Antec PSU.

The Antec has four 12 V rails, which means loads may have to be connected/distributed evenly to these rails to avoid overloading any individual rail.

The SeaSonic is perhaps the slightly better unit because of its single 12 V rail, you don't have to worry about how loads are connected.

If am I adding a Corsair HX1200i PSU to the equation, which is the best unit now? the Corsair is slightly more expensive but I will get it if it's far better.

The HX1200i PSU uses high quality components (slightly better than the SeaSonic X-1250). It has a single 12 V rail, which is usually preferred. Its performance is identical to the SeaSonic and Antec PSU's.

Overall, the Corsair HX1200i PSU is the slightly better choice of the three PSU's because it uses high quality components, and has a single 12 V rail. It is not far better than the SeaSonic or the Antec PSU's, it is only slightly better than the other two PSU's.

Placed in order of preference, with the most preferred PSU listed at the top, and least preferred PSU at the bottom -

HX1200i
X-1250
HCP-1300

Thank you very much for answering. do you think the HX1200i is worth like a 50$ premium over SeaSonic?
I am currently trying to make my choice between me the Seasonic and the Corsair. both should be able to drive those three R9 390X's right?
