So after turning my computer 2 days ago, it turned down the switch on the electrical board, after finding out that the PSU fried, i decided to use my old own, 650w as the new one.

But now i have a problem, the PC still doesn't boot even tought my PSU is working, but when i remove the 4pin connector from the CPU it turns on for a few secs and instantly shuts down, and when i connect the 4pin connecter and it just doesnt even boot.

So my question is, is the MOBO dead? or the CPU? i can send the signal to power on using the power switch on front of the case, so it shouldnt be the MOBO board since it detects the signal to turn on right?

Anyways i removed everthing just trying to boot with PSU, MOBO, and the Power switch on the front of the case, no Beeps either.

Should i buy a new MOBO or CPU?

That four pin plug that goes in beside the heatsink feeds power from the 12Volt rail of your PSU and if two of them failed to excite it, the chances are it's dead.

There's life in the board if you get that three second fan movement when the four pin isn't in place but it's probably best to junk the board rather than risk a new CPU in it.

Yes i tried with both the 4pin connectors from the PSU, when i disconnect the 4pin for the CPU and turn on everyfan turn's on, 2 on the case, and the PSU one.

So should i just switch the board out for a new one?
