I'm currently using 4gb ddr3 ram on my motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2937#sp I'm not sure what the Mhz speed is, but it is dual channel 2x2 gb sticks.
I was recently given a single channel (I think) 8gb ram stick https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-1600D3-8G-S-SAMSUNG-2rx8-Pc3-12800u/dp/B00BMH1KFE but the issue is that the computer immediately gives three beeps upon startup indicating memory issues.
Is my ram compatible with my motherboard? If so, any suggestions?
