My pc keps rebooting when i turn it on i looked up on the internet and i got some info so i disabled "Automatic rebooting...'' and the blue screen of death appeared.
I put the windows 7 cd to reinstall my system and my boot menu wouldnt work i tried booting from the cd but it keps restarting so i opened command prompt and wiped out my entire hard drive
i restarted and tried again but an error poped up it said something like ''insert any bootable device'' not sure but it was somethig like that
What can i do? I cant re-install windows i cant do anything

You put the win7 disk in the optical drive. Power Off. Power on. It should boot from the win7 disk and reformat and reload windows on your hard drive.

If it doesn't boot from the optical drive get into BIOS and look at "BOOT ORDER". Make sure boot from Optical (that's the CDROM/DVDROM family) is higher in the boot order than the Hard Drive.

If there is a problem with the hard drive the Windows install process will tell you. Post the exact message here.

To reset bios you get into BIOS using the technique given in your PC or MB manual. Usually this is pressing DEL or F10 or F1, but it could be anything. Then once you get into BIOS you hit the "RESET TO DEFAULTS" key, then the "SAVE" key then the "EXIT" key. That resets the BIOS. The only time to you need to fuss with the battery or the jumper that resets the CMOS without removing the battery is when you cannot load the BIOS.

it doesnt work even if i change the boot order
and there are no messages

When you boot from the windows DVD, with the boot order set to DVD first, what exactly happens?
1. Do you heard fans come on ?
2. Do you see the DVD light flash as it reads the DVD ?
3. Do you see anything on the Monitor? If so exactly what messages?
4. Earlier you said the error message was " but an error poped up it said something like ''insert any bootable device'' ", often symptoms change as you get farther into the problem. Exactly what is happening when "it doesnt work even if i change the boot order and there are no messages"

1.yes
2. yes
3. yes
4. there is only that message and nothing else

You win in the Men of Few Words department. Please confirm I have this right.

From 2: The windows disk is being read. It spins up (you hear the DVD spinning in the drive) and the light indicating that the disk is being read flashes.

From 3: " Do you see anything on the Monitor? If so exactly what messages?" You answered yes. Does this mean you saw a BIOS splash panel, then a message? If so what was the text of the message? Was this the "insert bootable media" message?

From 4: "there is only that message and nothing else" = what message text? Is it the "'insert any bootable device'' or something else? Can you describe the "windows" disk you have in the optical drive -- that should be bootable.

5. Can you verify that you were able to get into the BIOS ?
6. That you saw the boot order
7. That the optical drive was in the boot order ?

The symptoms you are seeing are either
(1) the optical drive is not in the boot order
(2) the windows disk you are using in the optical drive is not bootable. That means it's not an install or recovery windows disk -- both are bootable.

Can you tell whether the copy of windows on this PC came with the PC (like if you bought an HP or Dell computer) or if you built this PC and bought your own copy of windows ?
