Hi All,

I know this question has been asked before but I have tried the solutions on there and they have not worked.

I have a 200Mbps connection. On wired I am getting 94Mbps and on Wireless I am getting 207Mbps according to Speedtest.net.

I have phoned my provider and they say that the problem is with my NIC as it is only capable of running at 100Mbps. When you go to the Status option it is in fact listed at 100Mbps.

I have updated to the latest drivers and have set the NIC to 1Gbps in the settings but still I am only getting 100Mbps.

I am currently using a 5m Cat5e Network cable that came with my last Router when I had a 100Mbps connection. The cable is connected directly to the new router that I was given when I upgraded to 200Mbps.

The cable is just a cheap one that you can pick up in the pound shop, nothing fancy.

I am sure that the card can handle a 200Mbps connection with ease. I know some will say just use the wireless if you are getting a good speed, but I am old school and just like to use a wired connection over wireless lol.

BTW my Laptop is a Acer VN7 -792G just in case the specs are needing to be checked.

Many thanks

do you have the VN7-792G-797V? it appears to be the only VN7-792G model without gigabit ethernet.

we also have to confirm the device on the other end of the cable supports gigabit speeds. what is the make and model of your router?
