Hello everyone. I need your reviews guys. I have been experiencing voltage fluctuations since a week I even complained the center but they say everything is okay. Well the voltage fluctuations take place between 215 - 250 volts. One second it is 240v and the very next second its like 220v. I have installed a 500VA servo voltage stabilizer. Is it okay to run my computer or will it cause harm to my PC? Please reply
PC specs: 525w power supply, dell T3500 Workstation, nvidia quadro fx 580.

Any power surges/fluctuations is always bad for your pc. I mean PSU's can filter out minor things but that's a large fluctuation and can damage PSU's. Also your saying the normal is 240v? Then it goes to 220v? Has it ever gone above 240v?

Thanks for a quick response Sir.
No there is constant voltage fluctuation, mostly between 220 and 240volts. Sometimes it does go above 240 but it stays there. Right now also its like, one second 240 and the other second 218. What to do? Its really frustrating for me. I even have bought a 500VA servo voltage stabilizer.

If you have a multi meter try checking all rails and check your pins on the 24 pin on that connects to your board and also if you have a Kill A Watt try using it and monitor the voltages and when YOU notice the changes try to remember or write down what your doing. But going above 240v is usually not a good sign at all. But again this could be from the fact of housing wiring and how the circuits are connected to your house to the circuit breaker. I really don't know if you have a single phase into your home or what not. I mean 220v is 30 amps while 240 is 15amp. Most residental is single phase but I've seen some with 3 phase commercial but that's very rare to see and highly unlikely. By chance could you tell me what your system specs are please. This kind of is a weird situation and confuses me greatly. But there are many factors to consider here as well the unknown as well.

I dont have multimeter sir.
My system specs, Dell T3500 - 4GB ram - 400gb hdd - xeon W3520 processor 8mb cache, 525w power supple, nvidia quadro fx 580.
Its really frustrating for me because I spend most of the time on the computer after my university, for studying - making projects/assignments - gaming stuff etc.
Please tell me sir if that stabilizer is okay for my system. Yes we have a single phase system.

Oh your in a uni that could explain it a bit there's a lot of power flux in that large of a area. Depending on location could be those around you or even inside dorm? But for sure the amount of people using A/C's and power for laptops and such could change voltages randomly. If you have that stabilizer in there you will be fine since it basically micro manages the voltage and compensates in a way. So imho your good.

Im not living in any dorm/hostel. I meant, after coming home, I spend most of the time using computer. But as I mentioned, voltage fluctuation issue is just making me mad day by day which forced me to buy a stabilizer.

Waiting for a quick response.
Even posted all my system specs, the voltage issue still persists. Every second there is a new voltage output, ( fluctuates between 220 and 240 ) . Will it cause damage to my voltage stabilizer or my PC?
