50 Degrees Celcius @ Idle 4690K and 78 degrees under load while playing GTA 5

I tried so much... new thermal paste.., turning the cooler, replacing thermal paste again..

but i can't seem to fix it..

my specs:

I5 4690K with a Cooler Master Tx3i

GTX 1070 G1 Gaming

16Gb 2400 Corsair vengeance

Asus Z97-K

50 Degrees Celcius @ Idle 4690K and 78 degrees under load while playing GTA 5

Some help would be appriciated :D

Idle temperatures are useless beyond telling you that there is a major cooling performance issue if you see 80-100C at idle. Do some measurements under load and only start worrying if you see temperatures above 75C.

My i5-3470 idles at 50C because I set my CPU fan profile to 25% (the minimum allowed) below 50C.

hmm, while playing GTA or evolve stage 2 it can go up to 80.. when stress testing it can get to 85/90..

I reset the bios settings.. created a custom fan curve.. and in Idle my pc is 40c now..

As ie mentioned idle temps really mean squat as the sensors are really made to measure that low they are most accurate in the 70-110 C range. That tells you that it was just a fan speed issue and I'd certainly check temps during a stress test before I considered ocing with that cooler

Hmm yeah ok but when gaming it can still go up as high as 80c, i'm thinking about getting the 212X instead... do you know a cooler in the 40 euro range??

And whch one is the best out of these two? i can find them here..

the Cryorig H7 for 44 euro's and the hyper 212 EVO for 29 euro's
