My CPU is overheating

My computer is only 7 months old and my cpu just started to overheat and blue screen me. what should i do. Its an i7 4790k and this is the first time its happened. Please help

Nope. This wasn't a good idea from the beginning. You aren't supposed to run K processors with the stock fan due to the increased clock speeds and unlocked bios.
Anything over 80 and the temps start to get worrying, in that they may cause damage to the CPU over time.
You need to get an aftermarket cooler.
Get the Cryorig H7 or the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo. Both are good fans and will keep your CPU cool, although the H7 provides better performance. Going for $35 on Newegg right now, bargain.

Has it been unduely warm in your area? Have you looked to see if your cooler is clogged up with dust? Both can affect CPU temps . Also do you have an aftermarket cooler and do you overclock? You could also try re applying thermal paste.

The cooler is clean but it has been a steady 80-90 degrees where i live the past week or so. Also i dont overclock and just use the stock fan.

Thats what i was going to do, i just wanted to come on and see if there was something else possibly wrong, thanks for the help and info on the fans.

No problem. Just remember to install the included backplate with the evo if it is required! :)
