Hi,
I have an Asus R9 270x 4gb Graphics card. It is about a year old and has started acting strangely. First I notices some garbled and teared blocks of pixels when playing games (different ones) then when just sitting watching YouTube as normal it came up with a static black and white looking screen that flashed on and off really quickly, my second monitor displayed it fine but the cursor had stopped and I assume windows did too Any ideas what the cause is and what I can do to fix it. Thanks guys (and girls ;) ) <3

Solution
Those "garbled and teared blocks" are called artifacts. Artifacts are usually a sign that the GPU is on edge and about to crash. Your card sounds unstable and should probably be RMAed but there are other solutions like adding more voltage to the GPU or reflowing it. Heat is the #1 killer of electronics so be sure to keep it cool (although being a 270x from asus I don't think that's a problem).
