Vcore vs VID help me get to 4.4 or 4.5 OC I7 6700K

Hello, I have been out of the game for a little while. I used to play around with this stuff more. Anyway I want to do a very "mild" air overclock. I got this K chip for "Free" mhz" and to do some things a little faster(not much of a gamer)

Intel extreme tuning utility or bios. I have tried both and it looks like their doing the same thing.

I have been reading a lot and trying not to be guy who missed something easy in the FAQ.

Overclock Goal: 4.4 to 4.5 on air cooling and safe and reliable temps

I know I don't have the best system ever and no water cooling, but I hope my goal of 4.4 or 4.5 is reasonable on a budget H5? Please tell me if it is not.

I tried moving the multiplier to 44 or 45 then manually set my voltage. Around 1.25 I believe is what I chose, then I hit apply. I have also tried the same settings in "bios" Then looking at my CPU core it goes up to 1.392 and VID jumped to max of 1.458 according to HW montior. I do have the core voltage mode set to default of adaptive. I understand it wont' be perfect but it seems something is off. I quickly changed it back to "stock".

Why would it jump that high if I set it up 1.25? Is HW monitor not working with this chip?

According to that andtech article, I should be able to do 1.250 voltage for 4.4. That seems reasonable, but why does my bounce around so much higher than that?

I want reliability and stability, but I don't think 200-300mhz should effect me in the long run if I can keep my temps in range. My goal is to stay under 75C. My system is rock solid so far, so I don't want to spend hours and hours is this possible? I have read several similar threads, but still don't see the answer I think I should be getting.

If I can't I wont' lose a ton of sleep this system if fast, however I paid extra for this stuff and thought I would get 5-10% out of it.

I appreciate any supportive feedback in advance.
