I have a Palit GameRock Premium Edition GTX 1070, brand new (obviously). Having put it in, checked it's seated properly, plugged monitor into DVI-D plug, plugged the eight-pin PCI-E power in I get… nothing. OK, the LEDs on it light up, fans briefly spin up, and it brings my monitor away from standby to a blank, black screen. The BIOS is nowhere to be seen. I've now tried the HDMI socket as well, and the same happens.

My motherboard is a Asus P8P67, FWIW, with a 3770K in it.

Switching back to my old GPU, plugging that in with all of its power plugs, that shows the POST and BIOS fine. Given that is *way* more power hungry (a GTX 580) I doubt it's PSU related!

It was the PCI ROM Priority option that led to all the issue, having tried to change things slowly back to how they were. The UEFI ROM on the GTX 1070 obviously has some compatibility issue with the motherboard's UEFI implementation. Ah well, problem solved. Thanks!
