Howdy, sorry in advance for the long thread and thank you for any help you may have.

Short summary of my issue, attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 to utilize the touch functionality of my Wacom Cintiq, but apparently the chip-set in my computer is not compatible with Windows 10. I currently have an old Dell Studio 435T case with most of its original parts. Called Dell/Microsoft and apparently my best option is to purchase a new motherboard, which of course will not fit into the old 435T case. I can't even manage to find a list of the majority of the internal hardware for this machine on Dell's website, so I will be rebuilding this PC from scratch.

The parts I would like to retain and use in my new machine:
ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

and

(I have 4 sticks of this, for a total of 16GB of RAM)
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314

I am assuming I can use the internal hard drive that came with this PC (not sure WHICH one it is) in addition to a secondary drive I purchased from Best Buy if I reformat and reinstall Windows on them. I am also assuming I can use the old optical drives in my new build. I'm not sure if I could re-use my current CPU but it is an i7 920 @2.67GHz.

I did a little research and put together this build:

(Please note the total is a little higher than my budget but I am not sure which parts could be reduced in price while not sacrificing too much quality.)

I know next to nothing about selecting PC Hardware, so I selected the highest rated parts from PCPartPicker, but would appreciate any advice or suggestions for a build under 500$ total using the above mentioned RAM and Video Card. I mainly use my machine for 3d modeling in Maya, painting in Photoshop and building levels in Unreal Engine & Unity. Needless to say it is also my gaming PC.

Thank you in advance for any help you may have to offer.

Thank you for the reply Trafalgar, would the fan that comes with this case be enough or would I have to worry about overheating?
