anyone ever try using dell/hp/compaq/gateway motherboard in a custom build?

u think i can use a hp 3000 motherboard in a custom build
heres the board
HP 581499-001 Pro 3000 Pine Row

looks like the psu connectors are normal
the heatsink holes look normal

anyone ever try a build with a mobo from a factory built pc like hp before?

You may or not be able to, In addition to proprietary PSU connections, you also have to consider the size of the board (does it conform to a standard form factor?), front panel switch connections, and most importantly, what if any things you can upgrade. Many OEM motherboards are limited in the Bios as to what CPU's and graphics card they will support. And speaking of support, once an OEM is more than a couple of years old, there is none.
