Okay, so basically I have a router obviously, and I'm thinking of getting a wireless extender/repeater to get wifi on the 3rd floor where there's not much wifi. The router is on the second floor, but there are concrete walls, so there's not much signal.

I need to know if I'm able to plug one end of an Ethernet cable into my router, and the other into the wireless extender which plugs into the wall, and if that will add wifi to the 3rd floor. Pretty much, if I get an extender, should I plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the router, and the other end into the wireless extender.

I'm not 100% sure how to setup this wireless extender/repeater, and if anyone would let me know how to do it (through an Ethernet cable) that would be great.

Thanks.

You want a ethernet from your extender to your router, then the extender will use the internet from the ethernet as wifi.

I never used a extender before, but if you use a 2nd router as a extender, then you go to the 2nd router website and check it as a extender instead of a secondary router.
If you use a common extender then i guess it is plug and ready to use, im sure the manual will say something about it.

What I need to know is, if I connect my router to my wireless extender that plugs into the wall, will it be faster than if I just connect it to the wall?

Sorry

Im not sure if i understand what you mean, are you asking if the extender will be faster if you connect it to the router trough the wall? if yes, then yes.

Okay, I have a router with an Ethernet port on it. I need to know if I can plug an Ethernet plug into my router, and then connect the other end of the Ethernet cord, INTO the wireless extender. Will that work well to boost the signal into the third floor?

Yes, that is how you want to do it.
