I looked for a 1070 from the day it come out, the g1 was 429 pounds, within a few days it went up to 450pounds. All this time, 4 weeks the zotac amp extreme could be found aat first Ebuyer.com for 409 but like the g1 going up so did it'd zotac amp extreme at 430 still cheaper than most sites that sold g1 1070. Amazon to this day still have a 409 pound zotac.
Having held a g1 I was disappointed that it lacked a good quality feel and led lighting instead of orage stops it went with. Also the factory overclock is alot less than zotac. Even if these cards where the same price, which they are not he'll even if I have to pay 10 pound more for zotac I would, because the cooling fans are huge and over kill and they feen premium unlike the windfotce cheaper plastic design. You also have 6 heatpipea 5 of which cross over the gpu where as the Giga is like 4, and you get lighting. Also overclock out of box is one of 2 cards that output at1835 but stick it in your machine and it's actually 1987.
I really wanted to stay with gigabyte cause the g1 970 was awesome but to me the zotac 1070 amp extreme is what the gigabyte g1 970 was to 970s.
Simply put zotac went over the top on cooling even when you play games the fan runs off because the ridicules among of coper and heatsinks disperse heat incredibly. I really can't find 1 genuine reason to but the g1 over zotac in the 1070 series.
I fully believe at the prices they are I'd have felt a little cheated with th 1070g1 but I don't with zotac cause the premium work they put I. Desks throughout this card. First zotac product I have bought and if they keep releasing products of this quality it won't be the last. Ps 2164 manual.overclock is very very nice.
