I have a modem/router from Comcast that I am using. The problem is, the WiFi gateway resets itself every 15 minutes. This is not an estimate but an exact time. Every 15 minutes, on the nose, the WiFi gateway resets itself for no reason. In doing so it disconnects me from any online streaming or gaming service I am using and is extremely frustrating. The modem/router has been working fine until a few days ago. Not sure about what changed in the settings but I need it fixed ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It is hard to say what is going on without a model number. The easiest way to deal with rented equipment is to call Comcast and have them fix it. Either over the phone or by replacing the gateway. As much of a pain as they can be, the phone call will take less time than a back and forth over this forum. If needed, it can swapped it out at one of their stores rather than waiting on a service tech.

Or, depending on the services you are getting from Comcast, you can buy a modem and router to replace the gateway and save the monthly rental fee. Then you'll need Tom's forum more but at least you'll be in charge of the equipment.

I had the same issue. It was weak signal/power to the modem. Are you using a splitter? Try connecting the modem directly to the cable outlet with a known good cable. If you google comcast modem signal strength there are some walkthroughs on how to see this info. Removing the (bad?) splitter fixed it for me. haven't had a chance to try with a new splitter yet.
