How to create a shell command shortcut to THIS particular Windows Control Panel feature/page:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs

I want to be able to go DIRECTLY to the "set your default programs" page/window.

Not sure if it is a SHELL command, CLSID, GUID or what exactly.

What are the special characters associated with this particular page and how to locate them?

Solution

That's because it doesn't exist, it's a location like any other, not a special command.

right click - new - shortcut

open control panel - navigate to the default programs - copy the file path (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs)

paste into the box next to where it says browse - click next - name the shortcut

I updated my question (please read)...tried to make it more clear.

I want to have a shortcut for easy, direct access to this PARTICULAR page/window. I hope it makes more sense now.

Thanks for your time.

1) That's not an update, that's a total rewrite ;)
2) You do NOT need that! Like I already said, you can simply make a shortcut. If you have a godmode folder (which I assume you would have tried), simply right click on the function you want and select "create shortcut". It's literally that easy.
3) If anything involves you modifying the defaults regularly, you're doing something horribly wrong!

Basroil...thank you very much for trying to help and for showing how to make the shortcut from God Mode because it does not work from ANY other place that I have tried.

Although I can now have the shortcut, it does not show/display the special characters, CLSID GUID or shell command in which it is using to display this page. Ultimately that is what I wanted but certainly appreciate your efforts. I have searched for hours in Google and many webpages so I must now assume that it is not available and unknown to all.

I was hoping to get the actual command which produces this shortcut window. I do not want to regularly modify the default programs, I only wanted the ability to make a shortcut to this particular page along WITH the command to do so.

Right-clicking and displaying the properties of the newly created shortcut is not helpful.

Thank you for your efforts.
