Well, I had decided to build my PC with the parts this website: http://www.pcgamer.com/pc-build-guide-high-end-gaming-pc/ had instructed me to get, so I would like to know if any changes to the parts could be made, to make it more powerful yet cheaper, or if this is the best deal available already.

Solution
You might not be able to make it more powerful /and/ cheaper, but you can make it cheaper for about the same amount of power.

For example, you don't really need an i7 6700k if you're gaming, you could go with an i5 6600k and save about 50 bucks, and then if you're not going to overclock, you could get the 6600 and save another 30.

Also, the 1080 has a lot of really good 3rd party developers. EVGA and MSI to name a few. You might save money by using them.

There are other changes you can make, but I don't really have the time to go through them all. Use pcpartpicker to compare prices

As he stated in the article the power supply is more than needed for those components. You could get away with a 750w without a problem.

And like the poster above me said. Depending on your needs you could save a nice chunk of change if you don't need the 6700k then you could get a cheaper cpu and mobo
