Hello,

I have ordered new PC (6700k, 16GB RAM and MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB). But now I'm thinking, maybe I should change 1070 to 1080?

I CAN'T afford MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X (plus it's out of stock), but I CAN afford MSI GeForce GTX 1080 ARMOR OC, because it's 100€ cheaper than Gaming X model. Question is: will I lose much, choosing Armor OC over Gaming X model? Should I upgrade my order, or should I stick with GTX 1070?

Thanks for recommendations.

i have the gtx 1080 armor OC and i am happy with the purchase. I got it off B&H for only 679$ when everything else was selling above 1 grand. Minutes after i bought the item they upped the price to 700. This card doesnt come with a factory OC as high as others but i am able to add 150 to the core clock, and although this isnt much, gpu boost pushes it even further. so i am getting a little over 2ghz (2000mhz) core clock speed and i am getting temperatures of low to mid 70s. (btw dont forget to up your power limit). This card comes with 8+6 pin power cconnectors so you can squeeze just a little more juice into it. I am satisfied with my purchase to say the least. Also the fans are extremely quiet. To keep temps in low 70s i need to make...

Also the fans are extremely quiet. To keep temps in low 70s i need to make a custom fan curve where onece it reaches 60 degrees and up it runs at 85% fan speed. But, i can barely hear them if not at all. My case fans are louder than this thing at 85% speed. I would say get this gpu as its cheap(er) and you can maunually OC it. Or what i would personally recommend is getting just the 1080 reference card and installing the nzxt g10 and get a 140mm kraken cpu water cooler installed on it. I wanted to do this sooo badly with this card but sadly after talking to NZXT the memory modules on the PCB arent in the right location for mounting properly
