Unfortunately my Motherboard only supports AMD, so can anyone suggest an AMD CPU that's just as good as an i5 or i7 (for gaming)?

Well that's pretty much the best that AMD has to offer. AMD has not released any new material since the FX8350. Their new Zen cpus are supposed to be out by the end of the year I believe. I would not count on them directly competing with Intel's newest stuff though.

Note that AMD's new Zen CPU's will be a new socket with DDR4, meaning you will need a new motherboard and RAM to upgrade to it.
Your computer is pretty much as good as it will ever be, if you want more performance you can try overclocking. The 9XXX CPU's are basically massively overclocked 8350's with a massive power draw. They are supported by only a few motherboards and not really worth it.

Your only upgrade worth bothering with if you want to stick with AMD-based builds is to wait for Zen near the end of the year. Until then, you effectively still have one of fastest CPUs AMD has to offer.
