Im finally upgrading my 1440:900 monitor, I have two options I have basically narrowed it down to, reasons for these two is size, price and higher resolution.

I will be using for about 30-40% TV 20-30% gaming, and the rest using for mostly general PC usage and light usage with design software with some coding at times.

So here are the two.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/aoc-featured-28-led-4k-uhd-freesync-monitor-black-silver/5010800.p?id=bb5010800&skuId=5010800 (Can get 10% off $269.99)

http://www.microcenter.com/product/444614/Q2778VQE_27_Quad_Resolution_Monitor (Can price match then add 10% off for $242.99)

Any suggestions? I have heard 4k maybe difficult at this screen size?

Unless you plan on viewing it from about 3 feet away, yes, the pixel size will be an issue. I would never recommend less than 1440p for a 27"
The AOC gives you what you pay for, 4K at that price has limits, particularly when it comes to viewing angles (absolutely horrible) and input lag (about 5 frames at 60Hz). http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/aoc-u2879vf-28-inch-4k-uhd-freesync-monitor,4575-7.html

The other one is a bit better in input lag, but trades off with absolutely horrible contrast ratios.

Are you sure you want to go that route? I'm 100% certain you will be much happier with a decent 24" 1080p monitor, especially if TV and design are main components!

Thanks, i appreciate your help, i may look elsewhere, i would just like a 27-30in monitor because i have a futon setup in my computer room i would sit at for movie watching that would be about 7ft away, any suggestions in the range of 300?

$300 is still lowballing it for 27". Maybe something like the Acer K272HUL or ASUS PB277Q, but each has their own shortcomings too.

Personally I use a 23-24" 1080p monitor for PC games, photo work, and software development/CAD, and then have a 32" TV for videos/consoles (and a 25 foot HDMI cable ;) ). Not like you can power a 1440p or 4K monitor with anything less than a 1070 for ultra settings on newer games anyway

thanks again, Im really stuck on a 27in so I can single monitor my room, So I have another question, I found a good price on a samsung cf591 curve, but its 1080p, at this size compared to 1440p will pix-elation be an issue?
