Microsoft wireless mouse connect to different microsoft reciever

I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 but seem to have lost the usb reciever for it. While searching I found a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3500 usb reciever. Is there any way that I can connect the two?

Very unlikely they will "talk" to each other since each mouse/receiver set is configured to a unique wireless wavelength.

I've got two identical Microsoft Wireless 3000 mice but their USB dongles are definitely not interchangeable, I've tried it.

So lose the dongle and you may as well lose the mouse too.
