Hey,

Well, I'm planning on building a pc, hell I thought i had it figured yesterday (the parts to get) but I was wrong. So, price is a huge concern, budget is flexible but can't go well over a £1000. I play a variety of games but cs go is one of my main games, which high fps is easy to get. I'm wondering whether to get a gtx 1060 and a 1080p monitor at 144Hz or a 1440p monitor at 60Hz that is 27 inches, OR a gtx 1070 with 1440p monitor at 144Hz. This may have been quite confusing and I apologise for that, but the cheapest monitor at 1440p 100Hz+ is like £370 alone and I figured I can probably not afford a 1070 with that monitor, so 100Hz+ monitor is a waste because 1060 can't get that high in fps in any games, but the alternative, a 1440p 60Hz has quite low a refresh rate in my opinion especially for games like csgo. I don't find 1080p appealing so I don't really know what to do, and I won't be upgrading anything for a long time.

Solution
Get a good 1080p 144Hz monitor and a 1070. As more advanced games come out, a 1060 might not handle 1440p at 144Hz for everything anyway. The 1070 can definitely take advantage of the higher refresh rate at 1080p and if you don't plan to upgrade for a long time, having the extra GPU power is going to be more important.
