Hi all i was just wondering if i was to buy a MSI Gaming 4G GTX 960 Graphics card will my AMD-4100 3.6Ghz Processor be any good for this graphics card just curious is all thanks if it isn't any good could someone recommend me a better processor as i was looking at a £130 AMD 8350 for when i get enough money and a job thanks

Solution
The GTX 960 WILL work with your CPU. No its not the best combination but it will play many newer games at a decent fps on medium settings without issue.

The 8350 is a decent upgrade and the MSI Gaming 970 should handle it. That said personally I would just live with what you have, and save up your money to buy a full system upgrade (better Intel processor, or maybe by then a new AMD Zen when it comes out), motherboard, and memory.

The 8350 rarely shows much performance improvement in games over the 6300 or 6350. The higher TDP on the 8350 also means that you need to be careful about which motherboard you drop it in. And be absolutely sure your motherboard is up to the job before OCing it.

OP is probably actually better getting a 6300 or 6350, with a slight OC if possible on the mobo. Most games that would give you more performance actually.

Also, 960? With the 1060 and 480 out and the 470 and 1050 (or 3GB 1060 - or whatever it's going to be called) out soon. The 960 was never great value. Are you getting it at a really good price? Otherwise I'd for sure be waiting for availability on the newer cards, they're massively faster than a 960 and, once prices settle, should be priced close to the 960 (particularly a 470).

Skyrim should work fine. Fallout 4 will work as well, however the GTX 960 won't do ultra details, also your fps will be lower than normal (due to your processor), probably in the 30 fps range keep that in mind.
