I have a hp Compaq 6200 pro micro tower and want to take motherboard out and install it into a new case what is the best way to male sure it will fit? I know all the specs and types of the parts of my computer but not sure which one will guarantee I am getting the right replacement case.

You should do whatever you can to salvage the case it came with, because it's a non-standard form factor. It has a non-standard hole pattern for mounting the motherboard, some unusual 6-pin auxiliary power connectors that you're not going to find on any other PSU, and a special I/O back plate that may or may not be transferable. I'd say it's a no-go.
