Will x1 card in second x16 slot slow the gpu?

Hi all. I recently ordered parts to build a new pc. My motherboard is a GA-Z170MX. Im putting a gtx 1080 in the top x16 slot. I want to add a pcie x1 wlan card in, but it'll have to go in the second x16 slot so as to fit, because the 1080 will be in the way. I was wondering if doing this will slow my graphics card. I ordered a 6600k, which only has 16 pcie lanes, if that matters at all. Thank you in advance to all who can help.

Solution
My GPU and Intel 750 share 16 lanes, 8 each. I have never seen my Bus Interface used more than 20%

The answer is no, you won't notice. On another note, why not use the bottom slot? It is routed through the PCH and will not affect the GPU at all.

Since the cpu only has 16 pcie lanes, and the gpu is in an x16 slot, would it have 15 pcie lanes? Or would it drop to 7 because of the second slot being populated? Either way, what I'm really looking for is "would there be a noticeable difference in performance?"
