No Signal when connecting GPU

I just installed a new gpu into one of my systems, however, every time i get a "no signal" message on my monitor. The graphics card works for sure and I can tell it's on because all the fans and lights turn on. The system is kind of older and it did come as a prebuilt computer. I just need to find out how I can get this graphics card to work with this system. The power supply in the system isn't what's wrong because it is a new psu that is 750W (a little overkill but just wanted to make sure i had enough power). I am just not sure at this point what to do to get this to work and actually display onto my monitor. When the card is plugged in, both onboard and video card ports display "no signal" to monitor, but whenever i take the gpu back out the system is back to how it was where the onboard works fine
I just need help figuring out what's wrong and how to get the gpu to work with this. Any help is appreciated!

First of all what graphics card did you have in the system before fitting the HD 4870 into the Pci-e card slot of the motherboard Nicholas.

It is important to know as it can tell you or point to the problem as to why the HD 4870 card is not working when fitted to the Pci-e card slot of the motherboard.

So if you could, either list the previous card used in the Pci-e slot of the board, or if you were just using the on board video solution of the motherboard before fitting the HD 4870 card.

I tried looking all around through my bios but couldn't find anything like that. I also am having a hard time finding info on the bios online as well. If it helps, the bios is Acer version 2.15.1227 and there is also P11-B2
Sorry if this doesn't help but I'm looking everywhere for something about the pcie

Although I couldn't find anywhere in the BIOS where I could set it to automatically find display or go with pcie, after playing around in the BIOS a bunch, I eventually got it to work. I'm not sure if it had to do when I changed "secure boot" to off or when I did something with CSM mode, but I eventually got it to work and display off the gpu and I appreciate all the help!!!
