New graphics card disabled my audio from integrated HDMI Ports

I just installed the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Xtreme gaming edition. I have the surround sound hooked up to the TV that's plugged in to the Integrated HDMI slot, but the integrated HDMI audio devices have disappeared from playback devices (Yes I tried showing disabled devices). Is there a way to use the audio from my Integrated HDMI ports?

I've reinstalled all my Realtek drivers and installed drivers for the graphics card.

I'm using both the HDMI on the card and one of the integrated slots. The audio isn't working on either.

I've done that and also disabled/re-enabled the devices I'm trying to use.

While the HDMI is plugged into the graphics card? It needs to be the set to output video on that port for it to work I believe , you may need to effectively extend your desktop to that output..

You might have more luck just using an optical output from your motherboard (if it has one) to the surround sound, if your not using it to pass through the video.

Yes it was plugged in and the display is extended. I'm going to try the optical cable solution when I get home, but I'd still like for the HDMI outputs to work.

Yeah, I'm not worried about getting the HDMI on the video card to work as much as i'm trying to figure out how to get the integrated HDMI ports to even show up on the list of audio devices.

Ok lets backtrack. So the Nvidia hdmi audio just isnt showing up as a device?

If thats the case, try downloading and install the latest drivers for your 1080 direct from nvidia and install them while using the HDMI output - hopefully that should make sure the audio drivers are installed.

The Nvidia HDMI devices are showing up, the integrated HDMI devices aren't.

But does it work with the nvidia connection?

To use the integrated graphics, you will need to enable it in the bios (its usually automatically disabled when you put in a graphics card). Its sometimes just called integrated graphics, sometimes "Multi monitor", depends on what your motherboard is.

No it isn't working with the nvidia outputs either, but that should be fairly easy troubleshooting i can handle on my own

. I have integrated graphics enabled, and the video is working fine.

Okay, I've solved the problem by changing my bios setting to IGD instead of PEG as the boot display. Will altering that effect my graphics card or its performance in any way?
