I just finished building my first PC, but it won't turn on. I double checked every connector to make sure they are plugged in.

Power supply is plugged into the wall, and switched on. I have a PCI cable plugged in to the PSU, but it is not in use.

I press the power on button on the case, and nothing happens. PSU fan doesn't spin, and case fans don't spin either (so I'm guessing the motherboard isn't on either).

PC did turn on ONCE for a second; PSU fan and case fan started spinning... But now nothing!

Why won't my PC turn on???

Check list first.

1.Make sure the 24 pin 12v main Atx block is connected from the Psu to the motherboard.

2. Make sure you have also connected the four or eight pin 12v power connector on the Psu set of cables.

That can be labelled 12v ATX , or 12v EPS to your motherboard where you will find the eight or four pin socket on the motherboard near or around the main I/O of the board, or the very top edge of the motherboard.

Consult the manual for the motherboard for its position, location.

Connect any 12v Pci-e power connectors from the PSU to the graphics card if it requires them.

And make sure you have connected the power switch wires to the switch headers for the power switch on the motherboard.

Check on the back of the system and the power supply unit fitted to it for a rocker switch on the PSU.
and that it is switched to the correct state for normal power operation.

The switch selected to the O postition is normal power mode.

Where as if set to the - symbol is Isolation mode from the mains plug or power cord Dawndawn.

All cables are plugged in, checked them every time I went to see if PC would turn on.

At the beginning, installing the motherboard was hard since the I/O shield was not installed all the way (but I thought it was). I was careful of not scraping the backside of the motherboard, though. When I was screwing in the motherboard, I kept dropping the screws on the board since I don't have a magnetic screwdriver.
I'm afraid that I may have broke the motherboard, and that's what is causing this problem? I have no other ideas on what the problem may be but this.

Also, I forgot to check if there were any bent pins on the socket before installing the CPU. I don't really want to remove the motherboard from the case, unless I have to.

Any ideas?

Yes, it's plugged in. I just removed my motherboard out of the case to check if there is any bent pins; when I look to the side of the socket, it looks like the pins are all bent in the same direction, is this normal? When I look above it, pins don't look bent.

Just tried to short the motherboard by touching the power switch with a screwdriver, but nothing happened. Is my motherboard dead or something?

Whenever I try to screw in the motherboard, the screw on the bottom left side of the motherboard just takes one turn before it can't turn anymore without me having to force it. I don't want to use force since it's on the motherboard and I don't want to crack it or anything. Should I reinstall the standoffs?
