Hi, I have an older Dell Optiplex 745 with a 82Q963/Q965 Integrated Graphics Controller.

I've been trying to figure out where it stands in the grand scheme of the graphics card hierarchy.

Just looking at the requirements for some games on Steam and wondering if I can run them or not.

For instance, I'm looking at Invisible Inc right now which says I need
Graphics: nVidia 610M or higher, or Radeon 8400 or higher, or Intel HD 4000 or higher. Think it'll fly?

Solution
Considering that adapter was considered to be a VERY low performance option, all the way back in 2007, I'd say the answer was almost certainly a resounding no. Nine years old tech that was low on the performance scale back then is unlikely to allow play on anything modern aside from extremely basic, very low requirement games. Not even sure it would even support any of the necessary APIs or frameworks needed.

Even a low end card like a GT 730 or 740, which SHOULD probably be supported in that system depending on the specific motherboard (If you have a PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 slot, it should work fine), you'd likely be in MUCH better shape. Something like a GTX 950 would even be that much better. Even a 750 or 750 TI that doesn't require additional power connections and relies solely on the PCI slot power would be maybe ten times more powerful than that old integrated solution. These can be found and had for fairly cheap these days, at the 90-100 dollar mark for many cards. GT 740 is much cheaper and probably four to five times more powerful than your current adapter, but more importantly, would support the modern APIs and frameworks needed for modern games.
