I just installed my PSU today, checked all the cords, made sure they were plugged in correctly, then went to power on my pc. I plugged it it and my power supply (Corsair CX750) sparked and I immediately unplugged everything. I just want my motherboard ( Gigabyte 970A-UD3P) to be okay.

It sparked internally?
There really is nothing you can do other than use a different unit and test it. Chances are the unit killed itself instead of your hardware, but if it did damage your motherboard, and you can prove it, corsair may offer to replace it.

It sparked out of the plug and it immediately smelled like an electrical fire. I heard these motherboards are hard to fry so I'm skeptical.

The motherboard looks brand new, no burns or anything smelling like electrical fire.
